A recent review of 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K filings with the SEC revealed that 123 companies disclosed remedial actions taken to correct identified deficiencies in their internal control systems. One of the most frequently cited remediation actions was "improved training" (25%).

Monetary benefits of training

It is important to tabulate the details of training costs and compare it to the monetary value of improvements in key measurements. The return that training brings to an organization is usually worth the investment but unless a monetary value is applied to the benefits of the training, the true ROI cannot be determined.
